ABOUT DANIEL C FOWLER
Working Towards a Greater Idaho
I’m Daniel C. Fowler, Just a working-class guy who moved here from Texas and now calls Nampa home.
I’m running for Governor in the 2026 Republican primary because I believe Idaho deserves leadership that actually puts our families, workers, and communities first.
I’m not a career politician and I have no political background, I’m just a regular citizen who’s tired of seeing our state drift and decided it’s time to step up.
My vision is straightforward: strong public schools that focus on the fundamentals and teach real skills our kids can use; fair and reliable wages so hardworking Idahoans can count on their paychecks; housing that real families can actually afford; safe communities with real accountability; limited government that cuts waste instead of growing it; and an economy built on ag, trades, manufacturing, and energy, where opportunity stays right here at home.
I’m not going to make wild promises I can’t keep. What I commit to is simple: listening to Idahoans, speaking plainly, and delivering practical solutions that give power back to the people, so Idaho can lead the way and help restore America’s promise.
Lets Keep Idaho Great and Restore America's Promise.
My Idaho First Agenda
This is what I’m fighting for — a stronger, more self-reliant Idaho that puts our families and communities first.
-
Strong Public Schools That Work for Idaho Families Teachers paid $60,000+ with real bonuses for results. Kids master reading, writing, math, and science starting in kindergarten so they truly understand history, excel in science, and are prepared for life long careers and life. Get rid of homework overload. Incorporate daily movement breaks and structured recess keep them focused and healthy. Mandatory PE in middle and high school. Peer mentorship so older students protect and encourage younger ones. Focus on fundamentals — not ideology. Parents lead. Schools teach.
-
Reliable Wages & Self-Reliance for Working Idahoans Phase in a full $7.25 base wage for tipped workers so paychecks are dependable, not just tips. Adult education and trade training (CDL, welding, ag, manufacturing) free or low-cost if you’re working or training. No free rides — support is earned. Business partnerships make college affordable without debt.
-
Housing You Can Actually Afford Stop large corporations from buying up existing single-family homes. Cap small landlords so they stay local. Big tax credits and fast-track permitting for apartments and townhomes to increase supply and bring prices down. First-time buyer credits, renter relief, and property tax protection for homeowners.
-
Safe Communities & Real Law Enforcement Full cooperation with federal immigration enforcement — no sanctuary policies. Strict vetting and earned pathways for non-criminals who want to contribute. Prison reform with education, trades, and work release to cut recidivism. Tough sentencing for repeat violent offenders to protect victims and families.
-
Limited Government That Serves You by creating an Idaho DOGE to cut waste, consolidate bureaucracy, and redirect savings to working Idahoans. Create an Idaho Voice digital platform so every registered voter can directly weigh in on major issues — taxes, education, housing, spending — giving power back to the people.
-
An Economy Built for Idahoans Focus on agriculture, trades, manufacturing, logistics, and energy. Industry partnerships to build training facilities and sponsor college programs. Western Talent Bridge to open jobs across neighboring states — but Idaho is home.

Keep Idaho Great — Restore America's Promise

Day one.
Executive Orders I Will Sign on Day One
1. Corporate Tax Fairness & Family Relief Order
Directs the Idaho State Tax Commission to immediately audit corporate-owned single-family homes and LLCs that are improperly claiming the homeowner exemption. Any recovered revenue will be placed into a Family Relief Fund to provide $500 tax credits to Idaho households earning under $100,000. No new taxes — just closing loopholes so corporations pay their fair share and working families get relief.
2. Government Waste Reduction & Board Spending Freeze Order
Freezes all non-essential travel, per diems, and expenses for redundant advisory boards (such as the Bingo-Raffle Advisory Board, Honey Commission, and Soil & Water Commission). Savings will be redirected to road repairs and basic services. No jobs will be lost — just ending unnecessary perks and lobbyist-funded junkets.
3. Rent Transparency & Accountability Order
Requires corporate landlords and property management companies to report any rent increases tied to property taxes or major costs. This creates transparency so tenants can see if hikes are justified. No rent control, just fair play and accountability for companies that own large numbers of Idaho homes.
4. DOGE Efficiency Revival Order
Revives and strengthens the Department of Government Efficiency task force with a 90-day mandate to identify and eliminate redundant agencies and waste. Savings will be used to fund the other Day One priorities. This is about cutting bureaucracy, not services.
5. Farmer Biofuel & Local Crop Utilization Order
Creates a fast-track tax credit program so Idaho farmers can sell excess crops (especially sugar beets) to local biofuel processors instead of letting them go to waste or be undercut by foreign imports. Redirects savings from eliminated boards to support the pilot. Keeps Idaho farmers growing and turns waste into Idaho-made energy.
6. Teacher Retention & Core Curriculum Order
Directs the Department of Education to provide retention bonuses ($1,000–$2,000) for teachers who commit to teaching core subjects — math, reading, writing, trades, home economics, and real history — with no ideological content. Funds come from board waste savings. Parent input on curriculum will be fast-tracked. Public schools first, real education for Idaho kids.
7. Middle-Income Housing Supply Order
Directs the Idaho Housing and Finance Association (IHFA) to prioritize all available federal funds (tax credits and grants) for building more affordable apartments and starter homes targeted at households earning under $100,000. Local Idaho builders will be favored over large corporate developers. This increases supply to help bring down rents and home prices naturally — no new state taxes.
